Nonstop Weekend

My sweet hubby was out of town in Colorado skiing since Thursday. I haven't slept real well since then, but I have had a lot of fun. Some of the things we did this weekend while Micah was away was:

*Thursday night we went over to my sister in laws and ate popcorn and watched a movie
*Friday Haven came to work with me and Kelley and Cambron and they watched movies here at work and played while Kelley and I were bored to death.
*ate lunch with my mother and sisters in law on Friday at the new Noodle's in Fayetteville
*went to see Yours, Mine and Ours with the in laws Friday night while Haven got to go to her Aunt Wanny's (my Aunt Wanda) house, then came back to my in laws house to watch War of the Worlds. Not a fan of Tom Cruise, but Dakota Fanning was awesome!
*Saturday went to Betty's house for lunch and play in her new back yard.
*then to my Aunt Wanda's house for a nap and then we both spent the night so I could spend some time with my cousin Erin and have fun!
*went to church with my aunt and cousin Sunday morning and then out to lunch
*spent a few hours at home before going over to my in laws house so Haven could see her other nana and we watched The Polar Express. (AWESOME movie!)
A highlight of my weekend, besides the fact that I got to see my best friend and cousin Erin and laugh and hang out, and the fact that my sweet hubby finally arrived early this morning at 5 am, was the fact that I got to use the new Pumpkin Spice creamer in my morning coffee. Yummy stuff!!!!!!! Thanks Erin.
Glad to be back to 'normal' and also have my husband home. I missed him so much, but glad he had fun skiing and made it home safe.

Being Thankful

With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, I wanted to just write down a few things I am thankful for. I don't know if I will be able to post next week since it will be pretty crazy.
-the Lord and His mercies and provision for our family
-my husband and best friend, Micah
-Haven Cherie, our pride and joy
-family and friends
-Micah
-the job the Lord provided for me
-Starbuck's frappucinos
-Starbuck's white chocolate mocha
-a new season, fall/winter
-the lights on the Fayetteville square
-Christmas music
-flavored creamer for my coffee
-cheap date nights
-Micah
-Jesus, who died for me and allows me to walk in His freedom every day

Enjoy your turkey day. I know I will have 3 turkey days, so we should be good on turkey and dressing until next year.

A day in the life...

Yesterday was Tuesday, and, although I usually don't work on a Tuesday, I had the opportunity to work. I didn't have anyone to watch Haven, so she came to the office with me. I thought maybe noon would be the best time to leave, due to her 3 year old tendencies to get bored easily. But she stayed all day long! Her aunt Kelley kept her busy for awhile and played with her for a while. Then Haven played by herself for a while and pretended to be 'working' and answering the phone for us. Then she dumped out all the paperclips and rubber bands on the floor and preceded to put them in 'her house'. Too fun! It was a long day for both of us, but she did really good! Then got to go to her aunt Kelley's last night for awhile and play with Cambron. She came away with her cousin's jammies on and stories to tell her daddy about what fun she had!!

Little Glass

This morning my daughter accidentally broke a vase. Glass was everywhere on the floor and she watched as I picked up all the big glass and then went to get a broom. I started sweeping up the little glass on the floor and she asked 'Mommy, where is their mommy and daddy?' I was confused for a minute and thought about it while sweeping. Since I was sweeping up the little glass, she thought that the 'big' glass was its parents.:) Oh, the mind of a 3 year old. She just makes me laugh every day. One of my favorite times of the day is when she first gets up and she is a bit groggy, she comes to me and I get to hold her and she squeezes my neck with a hug and just loves on me. Just another way that the Lord chooses to bless me, as she is His! Have a great weekend!

A Surreal Moment

Today, we had a real surreal moment. My brother in law, Daniel, was hunting, as he does on most days, and accidentally shot himself in the hand. He is okay and had to get all stitched up, but just a moment indeed!! We are praying that the Lord would use this opportunity to really soften his heart and mind to recieve what the Lord has for Daniel. We are believing God for great things for Daniel's life. Praise Him for keeping Daniel safe thus far and for allowing this to happen for whatever reason.
God is good, all the time!

The leaves, the HOGS, and the day of rest

This weekend was so beautiful! The weather was great Saturday and I was up on Mount Sequoah in Fayetteville, awesome! The leaves were all sorts of colors and I love the sound I made when walking on the leaves, a sign that fall is here, although the temp was like 78 this weekend. Perfect weather for the HOGS to lose, yet again, and on homecoming of all things! Oh well. We also used our day of rest very well yesterday. Haven and I both took a great, and much needed, nap and just lounged around the house. My husband was great to take care of the little things yesterday as I struggled with a sinus infection, but I am feeling a little better today, thanks to the NyQuil from last night. Overall, a great weekend. I am working full time this week, so say a prayer for energy and favor!

Thought for the weekend

Just wanted to leave you a thought for the weekend.

"We will be reflections of the God that we believe Him to be."

As I am learning to understand what it means to believe in God, just thought I would pass this on.

Keep believing,

Music

It's amazing how music on a certain day can minister to you so much. Today, I was listening to our local Christian radio station and every song I heard really spoke to me. Like the several I heard today, just in the span of ten minutes.
Lay it Down by Jaci Velasquez, If you Want me To, by Ginny Owens. The Lord must have known I needed that today. I am believing the Lord for some miracles in my life over the next few days and weeks, and just going over in my head the five principles that I am learning in my Bible Study on Tuesdays:
**God is Who He says He is
**God is going to do what He says He will do
**I am who God says I am
**I can do all things through Christ
**God's Word is alive and living in me
Enough said!
Love,
Kara
