Dr. Masonisms

Okay, so I love my OB/GYN. (but not in that way) Anyway, at my appointment yesterday, I was by myself, which is always a bit weird, but not necessarily uncomfortable. There were several things he said that I told myself to make a note of, b.c they were so funny. I guess b.c we both have such a dry sense of humor, that I thought it was funny! (I guess if you aren't pregnant, they might not seem as funny, so this might not make sense at all)

**'Well, you might want to be careful when it gets cold and slick, so you don't fall. You have a hard enough time on dry, flat surfaces, much less when it's slick and wet.'
**(I always mention my weight b.c I KNOW I totally gain more than normal each time I have an appt.) So when we get to the question part, he says 'I know, you're weight. Just make sure you're eating healthy.'
**'Anymore questions for me? Okay then, (as he is opening the door) go forth and conquer'. (which for some reason, reminds me of 'live long and prosper')
**As I am walking past the little nurses station 'I'll see you in two weeks. Enjoy it while it lasts, b.c those 1-weekers will be here before you know it.' FUUUNNN!

I truly am thankful for such a good, Christian doctor who is knowledgeable and truly cares. (when I had my 3 miscarriages, he called me at my house and asked if I needed anything, how I was doing, if I had questions, ect.--just not your typical DR.)

6 more weeks......

It's Official

34 week appointment today. If I don't go into labor before January 2nd, he will be born on that day. Insane. Starting to get everything together, my last day of work is this Friday, and will be doing things with my mom and getting the house and the room in order.
Other than that, nothing going on. Oh, I did have some tasty cinnamon rolls at my mother in law's house Friday, which was good, b.c I needed them after the HOGS stunk it up to LSU.....blah. Enough of that subject.
But the cinnamon rolls were the bomb, as always.
Oh random bit, Haven got a hold of the scissors today and cut a chunk of her hair out on the side...her nana trimmed it yesterday, and I guess she thought she wasn't done yet.......
Done for now.

4 Thanksgiving Meals and the HOGS

We have had 4 Thanksgiving meals in the past week. I'm pretty much stuffed, not to mention the 3+ pound child in me that takes up a bit of room too!! But man, it was so good!!
Speaking of food, my aunt and cousin made us all reservations for PF Chang's tonight, so I'm pretty excited. A light lunch and then chinese food here I come!!
The HOGS play today. Basketball at 11:00-ish and then the big LSU game at 1:30. Should be a sweet game. I have my Razorback shirt on today, which is rather tight, but hey, I gotta support the HOGS any way I can, wether it be a tight shirt (which is NOT maternity) or not.
Speaking of Grey's Anatomy (which we weren't, but whatever:)) good show as always last night. I actually got busy and realized it was 8:30, so I missed the first half, but the second was really good. Wonder what's going to happen next????
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and enjoy the shopping today. I am working a bit and then will go home and watch the game. Not going to brave the crowds, I'm afraid I wouldn't be great company at this stage of the game. (I get cranky anyway with too many people, chlostrophobia, ect. but especially being 8 months pregnant, not too good of a combination)

GO HOGS GO!!!

Thanksgiving

I went to Haven's Thanksgiving party at her school today. They sang songs that they had learned and played pin the feather on the turkey, along with a feast that included
Turkey and cheese sandwiches
Chips
Carrots
Cookies that were shaped like turkeys
And a party wouldn't be a party without pictures.....
She looks pretty excited about it all.:)

Doing the TeePee Song.

'A Thankful Heart is a Happy Heart' song.
Haven and her friend Ethan.

Haven, Ethan, and Jocelyn.

Everyone had a great time and one of the many things I am thankful for is a wonderful school with awesome teachers who truly love Haven and want to see her grow and mature, but mostly, to come to know the Lord.

Laney Household Update

Micah got his two wisdom teeth out on Friday, and it made for a long weekend, but he is much better! He will get his other two pulled around the first of the year.....
Went for my 32 week check up on Monday, and things are 'right on track' and I am where I need to be.
Getting ready for Thanksgiving--we have one Sunday afternoon, and then one Wednesday evening, and another on Thanksgiving day. Should make for some good food and good times.
My last day of working is going to be December 8th. (my brother's birthday--he'll be 30!!) I am excited to be able to get everything ready, as NOTHING is ready yet.
We are going to repaint the room, get the bedding, which we still haven't gotten, and get a stroller, so the sweet little baby has something to ride home in from the hospital.......
Other than that, not much going on. Micah did let me (or rather I just took the initative) to put up the Christmas tree Sunday afternoon. It was fun and I am so glad we did, so I can get it out of the way for one, and the other, just enjoy it longer before the baby gets here.
Haven has her first little Thanksgiving party at school on Tuesday. I will be sure and get some pictures. She is so excited and we have been talking a lot lately about being thankful and what that means. She is currently thankful for her Bapa G (my dad) making her a new bed! We have also talked about what it means 'to have a thankful heart'. There is a veggie tales song that talks about 'a thankful heart is a happy heart' and that if you have a happy and thankful heart, you are less likely to be disrespectful to your mommy.:) Anyway, the joys of parenthood, I am learning right along with her.:)
Happy Thursday.
Oh, and the HOGS are #5---playing Mississippi State this weekend. Should be fun!!!

Food

I know, life shouldn't be all about food, but these days, it is for me!:) On my myspace.com account, I have talked about my peppermint fedish. (peppermint cocoa chap stick from GAP, Chocolate Peppermint Truffle coffee creamer, and Ben and Jerry's Peppermint Fudge ice cream) That is still a staple for me, but now it's Chicken Salad sandwiches. I have had one at McAlister's once a week for the past two weeks. I am going to attempt to make my own (never done it, but know it's fairly easy) Anyway, it was sooo good! I know many of you reading this (if anyone still reads these posts) you may not care, but I guess I have to write it down so I can look back and see what all I enjoyed during this pregnancy. With Haven, food was food, and nothing really was SOOOOOO good, it was just food, but with this one, I have my favorites. It's been fun!:) Now for the constant heartburn, not so good........

It's today...

Micah's surgery is actually this morning. He ended up having an infection of some sort and they wanted to not wait until next week. So he will have his teeth pulled today...long weekend, but hopefully he will start feeling better.
Prayers would be great.....

My hubby found out today that he is getting all four of his wisdom teeth cut out sometime next week. He went today and they gave him so medicine to minimize swelling and make it to where he can actually open his mouth to a normal size. Poor guy. He has been dealing with this for about 2 weeks now, and it hasn't been fun, so I am hoping that he will feel much better once they are out, although, I have heard it's no fun to go through...should be an interesting week next week.
In other news, my dear, sweet, strong willed daughter, decided she would start testing her mommy again this week to see what she could get away with. (especially during nap time) It's been a long week thus far, so I am looking forward to the weekend!! PLUS, the HOG game is Saturday, we play Tennessee here. Should be an awesome game and ESPN College GameDay will be here as well. Fun, fun!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

The only reason I am saying this so early is b.c Micah said we could put up the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving, if it snows before then. (and to make it worse, both my sister in laws have theirs already up....)
Yesterday, I had to go pay a bill on the square, and they were already putting up the Christmas lights! (we always go to see the lights, and then eat at Tim's Pizza--) We then went and got a few Christmas gifts to mark off of our list. And when we got home, before we took a nap, Haven picked out some books, and picked out a fun Christmas book that her Aunt Erin gave her last year. So, I was pretty much in the Christmas spirit more so than I have been already. I was going to break out the Christmas music, but it's packed away with the tree, ect. Oh well, we'll see. I guess I only have a few more weeks. If I can wait 9 months to have a baby, I can wait 2 weeks to put up a Christmas tree....maybe.:)

I've been showered...

Today, I had another shower with friends from church and my Bible Study. I got a lot of good things for the boy. Below is a few pictures of two of my best friends...my mom and Kristin. (she hosted)
**Kristin-I will get you a copy of the pic....we don't get many opportunities to get pics together, so I am going to make a copy for me too!:)**
Oh, and has for a name, I think we have one, but we are still praying about it....I feel like we got a bit of confirmation today, but want to be sure!:) It's very important you know.:)
I'm off to bed! Long day and Haven has worn me out!! She has way too much energy for her old mommy.
I am blessed with good friends that love me and pray for me daily. Thank you Lord.

This video makes me want to have church. And it's a good reminder we are not alone....and that Natalie Grant has a pretty amazing gift...

Have you ever just sat in wonder, speechless and in awe, at how good our God is? If not, I would encourage you to go to this family's website. http://www.mattandginny.blogspot.com. I heard about this sweet family through a friend, and have been following their story. Although I have lost 3 babies myself, it is so amazing to hear of other people's testimony and how the Lord works through their circumstances and lives for HIS glory. I pray that as the Lord continues to work in and through me, that my circumstances will leave a mark on those I come in contact with and that they will see the awesomeness of our God and how good He is, no matter what! That through our brokenness, He is our glue and our strength, when we grieve, He is still our joy, and when we don't understand, our true peace, that we can't explain......
