David Harbin Laney

Our little Harbin came early, on December 28th at 7:30 in the evening. He weighed 7 lbs. and 4 oz. and was 21 inches long. He has black hair like Haven did, which does explain my heartburn I had.
David is a family name, so he is going by his middle name, which means 'little bright warrior'. He has been such a good baby thus far. We were able to come home last night and take a few pictures with him and Haven before Haven went with my parents for the night.
I don't have many pictures at this point. (you can go to Steph's blog for more)My water broke Thursday night, so we just kind of left in a hurry and without our video camera and camera. I will be posting more soon!
God is so good. I was really nervous about this one for many reasons, but I finally just really prayed over the whole delivery, doctors, me and Micah, ect. and declared those things and it was amazing to see. We were calm, at peace, and it was actually fun, except for the part where the water literally gushed out every 5 minutes while we waited to do pre-op stuff. AND of course, I had to go to the bathroom, both ends, and wasn't able to. Quite interesting when you have water coming out, and a few contractions to go along with it and your husband laughing at you.:)
Oh, and did I mention that Micah is absolutely awesome? I love him so much--he was and has been such a HUGE help and encouragement through the whole thing. When we were finally in the OR to have the c-section, I was so nervous and just wanted to see and hear him cry to make sure he was really 'there' and nothing was wrong. I just started crying once I heard his little cry and then when Micah brought him over, it was just a special moment that I will never forget as a family. God truly does answer prayer in His timing and we are living proof.
The rest of the hospital experience was a bit strange, as they had no rooms open when I got there, or when I was done with the surgery. And evidentally, I had a nazi for an OR nurse......
All in all, we are grateful to be home and settling in a bit. AND for baby Harbin and Haven.
Okay, I'm on drugs, so hopefully this all makes sense. As I post pics throughout the next few days, maybe I'll become less wordy, or maybe more, who knows, but I know that we have waited for awhile for this and it's a bit surreal right now.

I realize it's been awhile. I am still here and pregnant! My pre-op is scheduled for Friday morning and the delivery is scheduled for Tuesday sometime. All is well thus far, just getting a few other things in the room done and some last minute things we need. I will post pics of the finished product once they get done.
Christmas went well--crazy, but good. Haven got a ton of stuff and it was a great time had by all.
I'll keep everyone updated as soon as he gets here.

I LOVE this shirt

I found this on babystyle.com and I love it. I am hoping to get it after the new year....and it's so true, although I haven't seen the little guy face to face yet.

The Kids' Room

It is so weird for me to type this, much less say it!:) This is the new bed my dad, with the help of Micah, finished last night. There are a few touch ups that need to be made, but overall, a finished product. There will be baskets that go in the 'cubby holes' in the bed that will make it look a bit more fun, but for now, I have just stored stuff in them.
Also, the baby's bed and bedding are up, and the room painted. Back is packed and in the car, along with the carrier. We are just waiting at this point......
We survived the weekend of extended family Christmases. It was fun, but it is always stressful when you have little ones that miss their nap time and are cranky for the rest of the day and evening, but overall, it went well.
Here are a few pics:

Getting Ready

The room was painted Saturday, along with Haven's bed my dad is making her. The crib and bedding goes up tonight and last night, we got our stroller from Mr. UPS guy. It was a bit pricey, but Praise the Lord, Micah and I didn't have to pay much out of our pockets. And after putting it up last night, we realized that it is probably going to be worth every penny.
This weekend will be Christmas with the extended Laney family and my extended family. Should be busy and fun!
Today, Haven and I are cleaning house and doing laundry. FUN!

I guess since I have 3 Saturdays left until he gets here, I thought today's visit would go a little like this:
'Oh yeah, you're dilated to a 4, let's head to the hospital and have a baby'. (that's what he said last time) Even though I am having a c-section, I was still hopeful.....but nothing. Everything is good--he is where he needs to be. So, if I go into labor, I go into labor and head to the hospital, otherwise, January 2nd is the official day. Oh, and in case anyone forgot, today marks the official 2-week mark until Christmas! AGGHHH!! So much to do, so little time..............

Is it wrong to take 4 quarters out of your child's piggy bank to get a drink at Sonic???
I guess I have to do it since I never have ANY cash on me, not even change! Poor Haven's college fund....down the drain all for a drink for her pregnant mommy.

Haven Cherie Laney

This post is dedicated to my lovely daughter, who, is the wiggliest person I know while trying to take a nap. She honestly can't stay still for more than a second. We laid down at 2:00 and she is still not asleep....
On that note, this morning, the first thing she said when she woke up was
'Mom, so and so (named names) said I don't know everything, but I do. Adults don't, only kids, and God and Jesus.'
Then at nap time,
'Mom, when I stretch, that means it's time to get up from my nap.'
'Mom, you're my best friend, and I am my best friend....and Gage (our dog)...' I had to cut her off or she would go on and on trying to stall.
After nap, 'Haven, did you break that crayon in half on purpose?'
'No, mom, it was an asscident, we all have asscidents mom'.
Oh, she's so grown up.....or so she thinks.:)

I'm sure there's more fun to come.......

Today, I realized that Christmas is almost here, thus, baby Laney is too. Haven's last day of school is next Friday the 15th, until her baby brother is born!! She is having a little Christmas program at her school next Wednesday, so she is quite excited!
Speaking of Haven, check out my hubby, Micah's blog, she thought she was so big!:)

Christmastime

A post wouldn't be a post without another Natalie Grant video. This is from her Christmas album and it's pretty awesome, as always!!
Okay, so I was thinking on Sundays it would be fairly non-busy as far as shopping goes, but not so much! It was INSANE! But it was a fun, family outing, even though I tired about halfway through.:)
