I've Moved...

I am now at

www.karalaney.wordpress.com.

Please update your address books!!:)

I will no longer be posting on this site, so come see me on the new one!!

Oh, it's on.....

Okay, so Micah not only wants me to pick my top two, but the first one voted off, along with the top 5.

**Gina G.
**Chris S.
**Chris R.
**Jordin S.
**Amy K.

First voted off: Leslie H.

Not sure what the 'prize' will be for winning, but I'm sure it will be good. Oh, and Micah, it's on!!!!

American Idol

So, we everyone has their top two picked, right?? Well, of the 24 contestants, my picks are Gina Glocksen and Chris Sligh. We'll see. Micah's picks are Gina G. and Chris Robinson (aka Justin Timberlake) As it gets closer, I'm sure we'll narrow it down to who we think is going to win it all.......oh, I can hardly contain my excitement...really.

TV

I must echo what Mindi said on her blog. Grey's Anatomy last night was awesome. I pretty much sat glued for the hour. Now, what is going to happen to Meredith?? Hhmm, have to wait until next week. But, wow, it was amazingly good. Also, amazingly good, was American Idol. SWEET! I heard on the radio that the producers are trying to edit some of the shows to 'tone Paula down' as they have been having people think she is drunk, high, or other random things. I like to watch it, among other things, to see what she will say and do. She's a bit weird at times, but it makes it all the more interesting to watch....
Have a great weekend--

Obnoxious People

So, here is my current list of obnoxious people:
**Natalie Mains (Dixie Chicks)--did you see her on the Grammy's--ugh, it got old!!
**Haven, after a long day, and no nap
**me, with no sleep or too much sugar
**Simon Cowell--but he's funny
**Paula Abdul--she's just weird
Okay, so I thought a had quite a list in my head, but I just got through watching the Grammy's (we're a bit behind since we downloaded it)and I had Natalie on the brain. And A.I. is on tonight, so there you go.
Yeah, I know, I'm weird.
Lata.

6 weeks

So, I've hit my 6-week mark. Went to my OB, well now my GYN, and I am now able to do whatever I want...had to do the 'full monty', as Dr. Mason called it (pap smear--which I didn't realize I would have to have done today--blah). Too much fun. AND my new birth control is called YAZ....at least I have a cool, fun name for my pills....
Let the exercising begin.

My kids, oh how I love them!

Randomness

Randomness part 30th trillion:
**I wish my car had keyless entry--with two kids, it's retarded, not to mention a HUGE hassle, to unlock the car door with a carrier on one arm and your child's hand on the other arm, making sure she doesn't go anywhere before I get her in her seat. And then when you get out, I have to open the back door, get the kids out, and then lock the doors. It should be interesting with two kids when it rains....CRAP!!
**Micah made this stat counter thing so that we could tell how many people come to our site each day. But you know me, nothing is ever NOT a competition, so Micah makes it a habit to check each night and give me the status. He's winning so far. Blah.
**I am actually drinking coffee while doing my 'coffee with kara' blog. YAY!:)
**The other day we were in the car at night and I asked Haven if she could see the moon. She said 'Yes, and God and Jesus made the moon.' I told her that was right, and then she said, as she pointed out the window on her right side 'Jesus made this side, and God made that side (pointing to the left side of the car)' I just wonder what goes through their heads.
**She's into Jesus these days, b.c last night she was picking up her states puzzle (map of the US) and she said Jesus was helping her put them in the right place. However, she also blames Jesus sometimes too, like 'Mommy, Jesus touched the button on Harbin's bouncer, not me'.
**My 6-week post partum check up is next week. Pretty excited b.c that means I get to do a lot of things I haven't been able to in awhile, like exercise, among other things.
**The other night, Harbin was fussy in the middle of the night, so I put him on his tummy on my chest, thinking it was gas, and layed down, trying to go back to sleep, hoping he would too. He spit up, a good deal, all over me, and it went down both sides of my neck-oh and I had a tank top on--so it felt great! (insert sarcastic tone)
**'Barnyard' is pretty much the funniest kids movie out there. I could watch it with Haven all the time. (well sort of)If you haven't seen it, you should whether you have kids or not.
**American Idol is starting to get REALLY good, since they actually start 'singing' in Hollywood next week. YAY! Does anyone else who watches it think Paula Abdul laugh is stinking annoying, as well as Paula Abdul herself.....
**Another new episode of Grey's is on tonight. I'm quite excited, and I am probably the ONLY one who didn't watch LOST last night. It just doesn't interest me....oh well.
**If you like worship, check out this artist, Kari Jobe. She is AWESOME. Thanks Kelley for telling me about her.
Enough randomness for one day.

Sooooo, how've ya been?

I'm glad you asked.:) Life is getting a bit more routine in the Laney household. A bit more predictable and the adjustment is a little better too.
I have been thinking a lot lately about Harbin's birth and what a true miracle he is, as is every child. But with our history, it was especially special to me. I can remember when they actually brought him out, and he started crying, and I started crying, just to hear his little voice, FINALLY, and to know that he was healthy and well. I cried and Micah cried a bit with me as the relief hit me. I had waited so long for him to be here, to have another child. I had prayed over the delivery and myself, and Micah beforehand, speaking promises and truth. It was amazing how He answered. There was such peace all the way leading up to his arrival. Although I was in pain from my incision, I felt great on my drugs and wasn't sick at all, as I was with Haven.
Then as we left the hospital to go home, there was a full rainbow in the sky. It was beautiful and just a reminder of God's promises.....so on that note, I miss being pregnant. Not to say that I am in any way considering having another at this moment, but I just miss it. I miss feeling him move around, wearing maternity clothes, everything that goes with it. (except heartburn and sleepless nights) But a dear, best friend of mine is expecting and I am so excited for her! AND my sister in law is, so I guess I can get my 'pregnancy fix' through them for now.:)
Haven is doing well. She got a progress report for her semester. (I didn't realize they did this for pre-K, so it was quite a shock) but she got all 'S', which means satisfactory, so she is doing well and we are so proud of how she is growing into quite the young lady. I think she is growing up a bit and growing out of her little attitude phase, although, I feel with her personality, she will always have those days....
Harbin is good--growing and getting bigger too. At the moment, we are trying to decide weather to let him 'cry it out' during nap times, or wait until he is 3 months to do that. As of right now, it isn't working too well. He cries for about 45 minutes and finally falls asleep, only to immediately wake back up again. I think maybe he is too young, but not too sure. Anyone reading this and has any advice, that would be great! I didn't do it with Haven, and her nap times now are pretty much non-existent, but I think with her personality, it really wouldn't have worked too well anyway. Who knows. But Harbin is such the little man and we are so proud of him. God is truly good and we pray that Harbin grows to become a bright warrior for the Lord.
Until next update, be blessed!
